Narrative

While I was wearing an Alpinestars Tech-Air 5 system, an air bag vest designed to protect motorcyclist during a crash, the air bag deployed while I was slowly approaching a driveway and preparing to park the bike which caused me to fall off the bike and crash the bike. I reached out to ryan.mizushima@alpinestars.com who is Alpinestar's lead tech and he says "This is considered a false/positive deployment." He also copy and pasted a warning from the manual: "Warning! Due to shocks, movement, and/or other input detected and/or received by the System while in use, although unlikely, the System may deploy even though there in no crash event." When the air bag deployed it caused injury to my back and minor damage to my motorcycle.
