Narrative

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E. The contact stated that while her mom was driving, the vehicle accelerated without warning. The electrical system was inoperable. While the contact was driving at low speed in a parking lot approaching a stop sign, the vehicle accelerated. The brake pedal was applied but the vehicle continued to drive and crashed into a Toyota 4 Runner. The air bag deployed and impacted the driver in the face and she sustained knee injuries and cuts on her stomach and blood in her stool. A police report was filed. There were no reported fires. The vehicle was towed to an independent collision center. The vehicle was taken previously to the local dealer where the hardware was updated and a reboot was completed. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was not available.
