Narrative

The contact owned a 2007 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, and merging into the slow lane, he crashed into a vehicle that stopped abruptly. Additionally, the vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle. The driver air bag exploded. The contact was able to exit the vehicle without assistance. The contact was transported to the hospital with the assistance of Uber. The contact was informed that he had sustained a broken sternum and bruised ribs. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the residence, where it was totaled. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The contact received a recall notice of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V158000 (Air Bags), that he related to the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
