Narrative

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while his wife was driving at 40 mph, she heard a loud abnormal noise and began to feel pressure on her chest due to the seat belt. The driver stated the air bag warning light was illuminated for a couple of days before the incident. The driver continued driving to her destination and after parking the vehicle she noticed the front driver-side seat was extremely tight but was able to unlatch and exit the vehicle. The driver did not seek medical attention. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the front driver side seat belt tensioner to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.
