Narrative

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle was installed with an undersized fuel filter. The vehicle failed to start after waiting for some time before it restarted.  While driving at unknown speeds, the vehicle was sputtering. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the higher-amp fuse 27 was burned. and the fuse was relocated. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred him to the NHTSA hotline. Additionally, the contact stated that while at a stop light, an unknown Toyota crashed into the rear of the vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. The contact sustained injuries to his back and neck, and medical attention was provided. A police report was filed. There was no fire.  The vehicle was taken to a body shop, where it was diagnosed that the trailer hitch, transfer case, and differential needed to be replaced. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
