First I am a highly educated engineer in electrical/mechanical. I purchased the Xiaomi Scooter 4 Lite, and the first time ridden down a a hill the scooter lurched forward and almost dropped me to the pavement. The second time I rode, down a hill pitched me forward and a bad knee injury and wrist is still a problem. Here is the point, this was not human error it was the design of the Escooter by this 32 billion-dollar Chinese company. My conclusion is the engineers knew they had a poor back brake (drum no disc) and it would not stop me adequately so they compensated with a front electronic brake. The test I first did was power off and walk the scooter push the hand brake and the back wheel rose off the ground. Then power off and walk the scooter, apply the brake (drum only), and the back wheel remains on the ground. Next, I tested on a downward slope with power off...this is key, the back drum brake was fully engaged and would not stop the forward motion. This provided me proof the designer of the scooter knew they had a design and used the front electronic brake as an addition, but with the use of the front brake the scooter pitches forward. I have contacted Xiaomi and they are aware of the issue. The point is to blame the rider of the scooter, but I have engineering proof this scooter is going to harm or kill someone eventually!!!! I still have the scooter as evidence.
