Narrative

The wiring and electrical relay failed. It is not available for inspection as it was sprayed with a fire extinguisher and disposed of. The lights would not turn on and with the auxiliary switch set to "off" the electrical relay overheated. When the relay overheated, it began to melt and started arcing all of the wires connected to it under the hood, which caused sparks and smoke and would have resulted in a fire had we not been present and kept a fire extinguisher in the vehicle. After reviewing feedback from other customers this problem has been reproduced, this part was sold to us by Amazon and they refused to investigate or initiate an inquiry over the issue. The manufacturer also did not investigate and didn't acknowledge our complaint for 2 months . The sparks were extinguished quickly, resulting in minimal damage and no accident or insurance claim. The part did not include any warning lamps or alert systems, however we were alerted to the problem from loud popping sounds and smoke coming from under the hood.
