Narrative

The contact owns a rebuilt 1981 DeLorean DMC-12. The contact stated that while driving at 40 MPH, the accelerator pedal felt loose and remained stuck causing the vehicle to accelerate. The contact stated he shifted the gear into neutral and depressed the brake pedal; however, the vehicle crashed into a tree before coming to a stop. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed and taken by the insurance provider. The vehicle was not equipped with air bags. The contact sustained injuries to his C-Spin and sought medical attention. A police report was filed. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired and was deemed a total loss. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 9,000.
