While sitting at a stop sign, I attempted to place my vehicle in Park. I opened the driverâs side door, but the car had not actually shifted into Park. None of the vehicleâs safety systems engaged when the door was opened. The car rolled forward with me partially outside the vehicle, dragging me until it struck a tree. This incident reflects a critical failure in the vehicleâs electrical/safety systems: â¢The transmission did not engage Park when selected. â¢The door-open rollaway prevention system did not activate. â¢The automatic front collision system failed to stop the vehicle.
