The contact owns a 2017 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the vehicle rolled backwards. The contact jumped into the vehicle and attempted to stop the vehicle. The contact stated that the gear shifter failed to shift. The contact stated that the vehicle crashed into a brick wall before the vehicle finally stopped. In addition, the air bags did not deploy. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the failure occurred while the vehicle was parked at the contact's residence. The contact was on the outside of the vehicle, removing items from the vehicle. The contact stated that upon reaching while on the passenger's side, the vehicle began to roll backwards. The contact grabbed and turned the steering wheel in the direction of the brick wall, hoping that the impact would stop the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle had been parked for more than 15 minutes prior to the failure. A Police report was filed; however the information was unavailable. The contact sustained injuries to the right shoulder; however the contact did not receive medical treatment.
