The contact owns a 2022 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while entering an onramp at 40 MPH, the vehicle in front of her vehicle came to an abrupt stop, and the contact crashed into the vehicle. The contact stated that only the front driver side knee air bags deployed upon impact. The contact was taken to the hospital by ambulance and was treated for pain in her chest as well as an injury to her left carotid artery. Due to the severity of her injury, the contact was transported to another hospital, where several tests, including a CT scan, EKG, ultrasound, and X-rays, were performed. The contact remained in the hospital overnight and was given medication for her injuries. A police report was filed. The other driver did not sustain any injuries. The vehicle was towed to the contact's home, where an insurance adjuster inspected the vehicle. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer had yet been notified of the failure.
