The contact owns a 2023 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V467000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that after filling the fuel tank and driving approximately 70 MPH, they noticed a fuel odor coming from the vehicle. After parking the vehicle for approximately 40 minutes, they returned to the vehicle that had been on fire. The fire department was contacted, which had put out the fire. The vehicle was towed and totaled. The fire had caused damage to the grounds on which the vehicle was parked. There was fuel contamination and burned areas in the yard and on the porch near where the vehicle was parked. There were no injuries.
