Narrative

Employees were using a backhoe to remove a section of railroad rail when the rail broke loose and swung, striking an employee in the leg. The employee received fractures to the femur and ankle. It was estimated that the rail was 18 feet long and the employee was 15 to 16 feet from the backhoe.
