Narrative

An employee was disposing of 12-gauge shotgun shells with a single-shot, 12-gauge shotgun and had disposed of several shells. After a period of disposal, the gun barrel split, causing metal pieces of the gun barrel to strike the employee 's right shoulder. The employee was hospitalized for surgery to remove the pieces of metal.
