Narrative

The employee was connecting a rod for rock coring/sampling. The rod is approximately 2" in diameter by 5' long, weighing about 15 pounds. The head of the auger rig turns the rod. The employee was using a 24" wrench to tighten the rod. The employee activated the rig to help torque the rod. The employee was injured when he put his hand between the pipe wrench and the turning auger rig.
