Narrative

An employee was attempting to loosen the pin so that he could adjust the tandem wheels under the back of his 53-foot semi-trailer for loading/unloading. An air line failed or an air spring (ballast) burst, suddenly dropping the trailer down and pinning the employee's arm between the top of the tire and bottom of the trailer frame. His arm was crushed and lacerated.
