Narrative

An employee was cleaning wheat out of a grain elevator leg, which had filled with wheat and prevented the belt/elevator from moving. The belt was not locked out at the time. A coworker on the floor above was instructed to start the belt to see if it would move while the employee was still clearing wheat. The belt started, and his hand got caught between a bucket and the metal housing of the leg, amputating his hand a few inches above the wrist.
