Narrative

An employee was using a crane to lift and move steel tubing onto a roller bed. The chain sling slipped from the crane hook as the tubing was being lowered and the employee's left thumb was pinched between the tubing and a steel beam that was in the roller bed. The employee's thumb was amputated just below the fingernail.
