Narrative

A well-servicing rig crew was tripping pipe out of a hole when the safety pin on the tongs (torqueing device) broke, allowing the tongs to strike an employee and knock him off the work platform. He fell 10 feet, fracturing his ribs and back and lacerated his liver.
