Narrative

An employee was removing a threaded grease fitting from a valve. As the fitting came loose, it struck the employee's hand. Air, water, and grease also released with some pressure. The pressure or the fitting lacerated the employee's hand between the thumb and forefinger and abraded the skin between the thumb and wrist. The employee was hospitalized and had surgery.
