An employee had just loaded a liquid cargo trailer when his fall protection became stuck on the trailer's crash box and would not return to the full upright position. He was trying to loosen the platform from the crash box when it released, raising quickly and striking him on his hard hat. He was knocked off balance, causing him to fall backwards off the trailer. He broke his ribs and injured his back.
