Amputations

An employee backed a trailer toward a customer's dock, then actuated the customer's dock lock and movable dock plate to bridge the height difference between the trailer threshold and dock. The mechanized dock plate would not clear the trailer threshold so that it would smoothly go into place. The employee grabbed the edge of the dock plate and attempted to lift and guide it into place. The dock plate then pinched his right hand against the trailer and tore off his right ring fingertip.
