Narrative

An employee was part of a crew rigging a vertical tank to be lifted by a crane. His gloved right hand was holding a 1.5-inch wire rope choker (sling) when it slipped and his right pinky finger was impacted by a nearby pipe barrier. His finger broke and was lacerated above the first joint, resulting in an amputation above the first joint.
