Fractures

An employee was up on an I-beam, tied off to set a long span joist on the wide flange beam. As the joist was coming up into position, it got close to his foot. He moved his foot, lost his balance, and fell off the beam. The retractable caught him, bounced once, and swung toward the building. The bottom flange of the I-beam then severed the retractable and the employee fell approximately 10 feet onto the sand/concrete floor. He fractured his left wrist and was hospitalized.
