An employee was standing next to a flatbed trailer. A load of steel rails had just been hoisted onto the bed of the trailer. When the steel was unlashed from the crane, two pieces fell off the bed and struck the employee. The employee sustained toe amputations on one foot and trauma to the head, hands, abdomen, and feet.
