Narrative

An employee was in the process of moving a piece of equipment (pipeline scanning tool) that was attached to a large pipeline. The employee's left hand was in a pinch point when the equipment was engaged. The scanning tool closed down onto the pipeline catching the employee's left hand in a pinch point resulting in lacerations and amputation of the left pinky fingertip.
