The injured employee was guiding marble slabs as they were being unloaded from a flatbed delivery truck using a forklift. The forklift picked up two slabs of marble (120" x 77") weighing approximately 2,200 pounds. The weight caused the forklift to tilt forwards which in turn caused the booms and slabs to fall forward. The impact of the slabs slammed the employee into the truck. The slabs fell back toward the forklift and injured employee fell on top of the slabs. The injured employee was hospitalized for a fractured jaw and vertebrae in the neck.
