Narrative

An employee was removing expired chlorine tabs from a dilution system tank that was shut down for maintenance. He was exposed to chlorinated water from a leak in the system, as well as wet chlorine tablets stored in a bucket during the maintenance. He reported having a heavy cough after his shift and difficulty breathing the next day and was hospitalized.
