An employee was on a ladder over an extrusion machine, handling a 1,500-pound screw that was hanging from a crane. The employee felt as if he would fall and grabbed the screw. The screw then swung and crushed his right little finger against the machine. He suffered an avulsion and broken bones and was hospitalized.
