An employee was working with a crew to move a drum cutter from a line. While the crew was tugging on the machine, the employee's right middle finger entered a hole in the area the employee had grasped to pull. The employee's right middle fingertip was then amputated at the nailbed by the pulling or rocking movement. The hole was unguarded at the time of the incident.
