An employee was using a rag to clean the paddles on a machine. The machine caught the rag, pulling the employee's hand in; the employee's left middle finger became wedged against the hopper wall and the blade on the rotating conveyor. The finger was amputated up to the second knuckle, and the employee was hospitalized.
