Narrative

An employee was operating a chainsaw while cutting brush and small trees in a utility right-of-way. The employee cut an 8- to 9-inch ash tree and the tip of the saw came in contact with a stump resulting in a kickback. The chainsaw struck the employee, resulting in a laceration and fractures to the face.
