An employee was troubleshooting the starter and control system for the drive motor of the reclaim system s lump buster. While his left hand was in contact with the pulley drive system, the lump-buster turned on and his thumb was caught between the pulley and sheave and lacerated. The employee required surgery for tendon damage and injury to the knuckle joint.
