Narrative

An employee was moving a 72-inch industrial magnet (weighing 8,460 pounds) on steel sawhorses. The employee was repositioning the sawhorses while the load was suspended from a crane. A weld securing the magnet broke. The magnet fell on the employee's left index finger, crushing it against the sawhorse. The finger was amputated at the first knuckle.
