An employee was driving a golf cart in the lot area. The employee was returning inside the building because it started raining. There was an open metal bed trailer parked in the lot with the tongue hitch sticking out. The employee did not see the trailer's tongue hitch and hit it with the golf cart. The plastic windshield of the golf cart hit first and came off. Then the employee hit the tongue hitch with his face. The employee suffered lacerations to the face and a fractured left eye socket and a fractured lower jaw.
