Narrative

While on a 6-foot rolling platform ladder, an employee was using a bandsaw to cut a section of piping. As the employee finished making a cut, the ladder tilted forward, then moved backward, before toppling over. The employee fell over the handrail of the platform and struck his ribs on the handrail of a nearby emergency exit staircase. The employee was hospitalized with four broken ribs and a punctured lung.
