Amputations

An employee was setting up a CNC machine for machining metal, using an overhead crane to lower a template (angle iron) onto the machine table. As the employee was lowering the template, he noticed metal shavings on the table. He rested the edge of the template on the table while he cleaned it. When he started to lower the template again, his left hand was on the top of the template to guide it. The template slipped and swung forward catching his left hand between the edge of the machine and the template, crushing his pinky finger and partially amputating his ring finger.
