An employee was assisting in an inventory count by removing a pallet of goods from the second-to-top shelf of an inventory rack using a forklift. The employee's forklift struck the cross beam of the shelf above and the pallet became unstable. A few boxes fell off the pallet, striking the forklift's protective cage. The employee then exited the forklift to move away from the scene and another pallet fell striking the employee's lower back. The employee sustained an abrasion and hematoma to the lower back.
