An employee was standing in front of the cash register of a gas station convenience store when a person entered the store and started to dump gasoline on the counter and shake it toward the employee. The employee attempted to leave when the person threw the gas can at her. The employee fell and the person threw a lit match at her, igniting the gasoline. A supervisor ran to the employee and assisted in putting out the flames. The employee was hospitalized with second and third degree burns to her face, neck, arms, and hands. The supervisor sustained first and second degree burns to her hands and forearms. The supervisor was treated but not hospitalized.
