A machine operator and a mechanic were troubleshooting the loading mechanism for a paint booth when the loader arm was activated while carrying an 8-inch pipe. Both employees were caught between the pipe and the wall/gate of the paint booth resulting in crushing injuries. The operator was taken to the hospital and released. The mechanic was hospitalized with fractures to the pelvis and spine.
