A crew was servicing a well. The injured employee was using a manual backup tool to hold a pipe while it was pulled from a well to be put into an x-ray machine. The pipe slipped and the employee's finger was caught between the tool and the x-ray machine, causing the left ring fingertip to be crushed and amputated.
