Narrative

An employee was carrying out a wheel seal and brake shoe/drum replacement on a vehicle's rear driver-side axle. The shop air gun was hooked to an air line and was lying on the floor next to him. As he was reaching for the air gun, the air line detached from the fitting. Pressurized air lacerated his right thumb and caused an embolism. He was hospitalized.
