An employee was walking across lanes on a highway to retrieve traffic control material (construction signs, sign stands, and drum rings) from the shoulder when he was struck by a semi-truck. The employee sustained fractures to their right arm/elbow, fingers, and pelvis. He also sustained an open wound on his side above his right hip.
