Narrative

A maintenance technician was removing the old sheet roller and replacing it with a new sheet roller on the snack processing sheeter. A steel roller is approx. 3.5 ft long and 15-inches in diameter. The sheet roller was lifted from the sheeter by a powered industrial vehicle using synthetic straps for rigging. The roller shifted and fell to the floor. The employee's left little finger was amputated as the sheet roller fell. The employee's left thigh was also lacerated.
