Thermal burns second degree

Two employees were clearing a blocked water heater line in a patient room. Employee 1 was standing on a 6-foot ladder above the ceiling with a drain hose attached to the reheat water line to clear the line. Employee 2 was on the ground level holding the ladder and making sure the hose line went into the garbage can. Employee 1 lost their balance and the hose valve opened, which shot hot water onto Employee 2. Employee 2 sustained first-degree burns on their face and second-degree burns on their right arm, the right side of their torso, and their left hand and thumb.
