Narrative

An employee was moving three 6-inch-diameter pipes on a jack stand in a shop area for painting. A rear jack wheel got caught on a rough patch of the concrete flooring, causing one pipe to fall off the jack. The employee was preventing the other two pipes from falling off the jack when his finger was caught between either the two pipes or one pipe and the jack. He was hospitalized with multiple lacerations and fractures to the right thumb and underwent surgery.
