Narrative

The injured employee was working on the drill floor assisting to repair the oil well. The employee was using hydraulic-operated tongs when a piece inside the tongs came loose. The employee was fixing it when the lever that powers the tool was hit and the hydraulic tongs crushed his left ring finger, resulting in an amputation above the second joint.
