Narrative

A driver was loading a caustic solution into his tanker trailer. The employee was draining the loading hose into a 5-gallon bucket and then transporting it to a drain/sump to empty it. The employee was walking to the drain when his pants leg caught on a connector valve and he lost control of the bucket. When the bucket struck the ground, the caustic material splashed up and under his face shield and safety goggles onto his face. The employee was treated for a chemical burn to the left eye and was hospitalized.
