An employee was driving a mobile elevated work platform (MEWP) lift through an open double doorway. The lift was in the down position and about 6-7 feet off the ground. The employee was crouching down as his hardhat struck against the door jamb, causing him to fall backward against the railing of the lift or the yoyo. The employee sustained four fractures to their lumbar vertebrae.
