An employee was troubleshooting a cantilever sliding gate that was not functioning. He placed his hand down toward the ground to stand up and his right index finger was caught in a pinch point between the frame and guide roller of the gate. The employee sustained a crush injury to the finger that resulted in a fingertip amputation to the nail bed.
